Mission Statement

The Kensington Police Department was created to provide protection and services to the Community of Kensington. Our mission is to maintain peace and order through the provision of police services that are of the highest caliber and are responsive to the needs of the community.

A local newspaper, The Kensington Outlook, keeps us informed on issues and events, and is published by the Kensington Community Council. The Council also manages the after-school and recreation programs. The Municipal Advisory Council provides recommendations on variances and land use matters to the Contra Costa County Planning Commission, while the Property Owners Association and Improvement Club work to maintain the quality of the lifestyle in the community.
